Delete your Talea account
Talea is the music lessons app by Talea Music Inc. You can delete your account in the app, or ask us to delete it if you can't use the app.
Delete it in the app
- Open Talea and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Profile › Settings and tap Delete account.
- Confirm.
Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out on every device. This can't be undone.
Ask us without the app
If you can't use the app, you can ask us to delete your account. These requests are handled by our support team at support@talea-app.com, who may write to you at the email address you give to confirm that the request comes from you.
What deletion removes
- Your personal details: your name (you are shown as “Deleted user”), email address, photo, phone number, address, date of birth, biography, education and settings.
- Your sign-in with Google or Apple and all your sessions, so you are signed out everywhere. Signing in again with the same Google or Apple account starts a new, empty account.
- Your devices' push notification tokens and your notifications.
- The files you uploaded, lesson recordings included, except files you sent in chat.
- Your future lessons: they are cancelled, weekly lessons stop, and the other person is told. A lesson already charged, or due to be charged soon, goes to our support team, who settle its payment.
- Your links with your teachers or students, and your conversations, which disappear from your side.
What we keep, and why
- Records of your lessons and payments, including those from Stripe, our payment processor, and the state where your lessons took place: we need them for accounting, tax, refunds and disputes.
- Chat messages and files you sent: they stay with the person you wrote to, so their conversation still makes sense, with your name shown as “Deleted user”.
- Reviews and lesson summaries: they stay with the lessons and the other person, shown as “Deleted user”.
- Messages you sent our support team: kept for our records, without your email address.
- For a student under 18: the parent's or guardian's consent and its records, kept as evidence of that consent. Their links stop working.
- A one-way hash of your Google or Apple sign-in (not your name or email address), so that a new account made with it isn't counted as a new person for referral rewards.
